The Owners

The husband and wife team, of Dublin native Chef; Cathal Armstrong, and his restaurant veteran wife, Meshelle Armstrong created Restaurant Eve, based on a name lent by their first child.

Cathal Armstrong, was recently honored as one of Food & Wine Magazine’s “10 Best New Chefs” of 2006, Food & Wine Magazine’s “Top Ten Chefs of the Year of 2007,” Washingtonian Magazine’s “Restaurateur of the Year for 2007” and a nominee for 2007,2008 & 2009 James Beard Award for “Best Chef Mid-Atlantic.”  Cathal was inducted into the Share Our Strength Leadership Council, a group of culinary notables from around the country who advise this non-profit dedicated to eradicating childhood hunger in the U.S.  He is also on the board and an active member of Fresh Farm Markets, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and protecting the nation’s agricultural resources.  In 2006 The National Restaurant Association awarded Restaurant Eve ‘The Neighborhood Community Award for charitable works and community involvement.  Cathal speaks English, French, Spanish, and his native Gaelic.

Partner Todd Thrasher, the Sommelier and Mix Master received the award for “Wine and Beverage Program of the Year for 2007” at the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington awards, and is a 2008 James Beard Foundation “Wine and Spirits Professional of the Year Nominee.” Thrasher has also received Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Wine List of 2005” award, honored as StarChefs.com’s “Rising Star Bar Chef of 2006,” and recently lauded as one of Playboy.com’s “Top 10 Nationwide Bartenders of 2007.”
